Long before kindergarten begins, children are already developing the foundation for lifelong learning, emotional well-being, and future success in school and in life. 

The first five years shape how children learn, communicate, build relationships, recover from hardship, and understand themselves and the world around them. 

And yet, access to high-quality early childhood education is out of reach for many in our community. Too often it’s treated like a privilege instead of a right. 

In Marin County, hundreds of families are waiting for child care and children are missing out on the early educational experiences that will shape their lives.  

A child’s future in our society should not depend on their zip code or family’s income. 

Every child deserves a strong start.
