Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods Adds Hand Surgeon

Sonoma County hand surgeon Dr. Kai Mazur has joined Sutter Medical Group of the Redwoods, effective Nov. 1.

Mazur joins SMGR after 26 years running a private hand-care practice in Santa Rosa. He is a board-certified hand and orthopedic surgeon, with a particular emphasis on hand and elbow procedures, according to the Oct. 30 announcement.

He will partner with Dr. Anjali Murthy, also a board-certified hand and orthopedic surgeon already practicing at SMGR.

Mazur also brings with him two hand therapists and a physician assistant who worked alongside him in private practice, according to the release. The therapists are Cynthia Syiek and Rena Ribeiro. Cynthia Lai joins as the clinic’s certified physician assistant.

Mazur graduated from New York University School of Medicine with honors. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California, and followed with a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, according to the announcement.
