North Bay Business Journal Wins 4 Honors at California Journalism Awards

North Bay Business Journal has won four honors at the latest California Journalism Awards.

The Journal took home one first-place award in tourism and travel reporting, from California Newspaper Publishers Association. The publication was judged among other weekly print publications with circulation of 4,301‒11,000. It’s the largest content competition in the Golden State, involving hundreds of news organizations.

In addition, Journal reporter Jeff Quackenbush earned a first place in business reporting honor for sister publication The Press Democrat. That category was judged among daily print publications 15,000 to 50,000 subscribers.

The association announced the winners at a gala in Los Angeles Saturday.

In all, the newspaper and three of its sibling publications, the Sonoma Index-Tribune, Petaluma Argus-Courier and The Press Democrat won a total 67 awards from the California News Publishers Association, including 37 first places.
